Don’t get us wrong. We love our quilters and interior decorators. The more fabric stores in town, the better. But sometimes you need to make a costume for your son, a wedding dress for your niece or a good-fitting pair of pants for yourself.

Getting out into nature is one of the best ways to beat creative block, and one thing the Pacific Northwest is definitely not short on is nature! We know that all you want to do is finish that project you’ve been staring at for weeks, months, or even years but sometimes when you’re stuck… you’re stuck. Oftentimes taking a day, or even just 15 minutes, to step away, clear your mind, and cleanse your creative palette is all it takes to get you back in the groove. So, get outside this weekend, enjoy an extra day off if you get one, and let yourself come back to your project with a fresh perspective and a rekindled creative spark! :D

Here’s a little tip from this Friday’s activewear class with Suzi. Don’t have a serger for stretchy fabrics? Use the seed stitch on your machine. (It looks like a little lightning bolt ⚡️). Your stitches will stretch with the fabric and won’t break.

We’re so happy that Jena is teaching Graphic Design for us again. She’s a director at Pinecrest Fabrics where they print and dye on stretch and technical fabrics — even material made from recycled plastic bottles. Take her class and you will end up printing your own fabric yardage. She makes coming up with beautiful prints as easy as:
1 — Doing your research
2 — Controlling Adobe
3 — Turning your prints into fabulous garments.
